The man At The Gate

I said to the man
Who stood at the gate of the year,
“Give me a light that I may tread safely
into the unknown.”And he replied,
“Go out into the darkness
and put your hand into the hand of God
That shall be to you
Better than the light
And safer than a known way!”So I went forth
And finding the hand of God
Trod gladly into the light.

Saturday!

It’s the weekend already and I have been laid up in bed with a flu type bug..yuk

Am up and about now and really niffed that I had to miss my P.U.S.H. prayer meeting this morning, at church.

Still, I do believe God allows us these times to capture our attention when He needs to.

Today was one of those days for me. I can hear and see more when I am not so distracted, and as a mother of 2 lively girls at home I guess I needed that time.

God has been ministering to my heart today, I was so needful of that.

Thank you to those of you who do not know me personally but took the time to comment on my blog. That means a lot to me.

God began to open a window and show me that if I would just take a little extra time I can see Him in the little things, you know , those gestures that we come across and don’t expect? It touches us in ways that God through His divine spirit will use to uplift and encourage a heart that is needing it.

I am reminded of how Jesus would slip away and spend time with the Father to get His wisdom and direction.

I know that I am being made more Christ like each day and this will not happen without the journey hitting a few bumps along the way…Just keep hold of me Lord..Amen

I Am A Friend Of God

Saddleback Church Worship – Friend of God

I am a Friend of God

This video is simply awesome. We sing this particular song in our Celebrate Recovery group and to be honest hadn’t seen it as I did today.

God sees me as His friend!! whoo Hoo, that gives me such joy…such incredible worth from One who deemed me worthy to die for..

I know He counts us all the same, we are the apple is in His eye, we are the love of His life. God’s heart skips a beat am sure when we call His name…

Presently, I am going through one of the hardest times in my life. Spiritually I feel so far from my friend but I know this time will pass, I can only be what I can as long as I am reaching forward.

There is a great sickness upon my family and a lethargy has settled in on some but I refuse to let that stop me. God has called me to serve, and serve I will.

Friday…

The fact that I am a woman does not make me a different kind of Christian, but the fact that I am a Christian does make me a different kind of woman. For I have accepted God’s idea of me, and my whole life is an offering back to Him of all that I am and all that He wants me to be.         E.E.

Isn’t that an awesome piece of writing? I think so, and so true as well!

When the write wrote that they were making a very definite staement of who they knew they were in Christ…that is the place I am heading very quickly to.

After recent events left me unsure about some things, I decided that I would look at things more positively and allow God to help me.

Romans 8:28 states God will work out all things together for good to those who love Him.

To my sisters in the Lord,

There comes a time in every woman’s life when she has to take a close look at herself.

Not at her circumstance, not at what she did, not how unfair life is, or at who made you do it. She has to just look at herself in all her glory and imperfection.

Have you ever admired a woman who has been through changes in her life?

Or have you made up in your mind that she is just messed up.

Before you make this mistake, take a closer look.
A woman who has endured the most unusual life is someone of wisdom, someone who has been chosen by God to go through things that have made her stronger.

Think of all the great women in the Bible: Mary Magdalene, Ruth and Naomi, the woman with an issue of blood flow, and Esther, to name a few.

Mary was a prostitute, a very uneasy woman. But by the time Jesus was done with her, she was His closest follower. Esther was unfortunate in marrying an abusive man, but by the time God was done with her, she had married one of the wealthiest men in the land.

Women are so quick to beat the next one down instead of trying to hold her up. Before you wonder, “What’s up with her?” ask yourself, “What’s up with me?” That woman could be my mother, sister, aunt, in-law,stepmother, niece, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor, friend, or co-worker, etc. That woman could be ME.

Women are the carriers of life, not the channels of death. Let’s build and encourage each other, as did Ruth and Naomi.

Encourage and love, forgive and forget, and trust that the woman that reads this will be touched in some way.

May the peace and love of Christ be upon you!

I came across this earlier today after I had been feeling rather sorry for myself that I had perhaps missed out somewhere in ways only God knows.

Maybe God has allowed this to come to a head at this time in my life because I have had time to realise and think.

You see, I have just spent the last 5 days in the hospital with my daughter who they thought had had appendicitus and in the end it wasn’t, but during the whole of this time in there I was feeling lonely and neglected by some.

It hurts, and I am having to deal with it…I know that God is with us, I know that He is my BEST friend and want only to do what is right…it just takes time to reach that point, well for me it does….

EDITED: I felt God’s leading to edit the original post as my emotions were ruling rather than the spirit.

I came across another blog today and was reminded of why I had originally added this beautiful, poignant music video. You see, I have been thinking seriously about how I am with people , other christians and how they act around me.

I wonder that I am not only one who isn’t always real!! You know what I mean, and yet we should be able to be as real as we are with each other.

God wants us to be so real with Him. He accepts us the way we are, warts n all as they say…

Watch the video if you havent already!!
